As Care & Affordability Crises Rage, MomsRising Together Spends Nearly $2 Million to Activate Millions for Midterms

A Million Hand-Written Mom-to-Mom Postcards. 5,600+ Voting Parties. Hundreds of Thousands of Calls. Digital Ads Featuring Local Moms. 15 Million Mom Voter Contacts.

The country’s largest and most powerful moms’ advocacy group, MomsRising Together, with 3.7 million total members, has launched a massive, multi-faceted Get-Out-the-Vote campaign. Led by tens of thousands of mom volunteers, it will generate more than 15 million mom voter contacts by Election Day next week. The nearly $2 million dollar campaign includes more than: 5,625 mom-led voting parties, one million handwritten mom-to-mom postcards, 1.2 million text messages, dozens of digital ads, and 400,000+ phone calls. MomsRising Together members also are using a range of creative actions in English and Spanish to activate mom voters as the midterm elections approach.

They include:

“We’re seeing unprecedented engagement from moms across the country, because the care and affordability crises are punishing families, who are working hard but still can’t afford food, health care, housing, gas, and utilities,” said MomsRising Together Executive Director and CEO Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner. “Moms are feeling the squeeze of skyrocketing health care costs, and they also see firsthand that our child care crisis is forcing moms out of the workforce at a time when their families urgently need their paychecks.”

“Moms know Republican policies are responsible,” Rowe-Finkbeiner continued. “As the disgraceful Republican budget cuts – including slashing $1 trillion from Medicaid, cutting SNAP by $187 billion, and refusing to extend the Affordable Care Act premium tax credits – continue to be phased in, life will only get harder. That’s why America’s moms are mobilizing to support candidates who will make health care, child care, elder and disability care affordable; paid family and medical leave accessible; wages fair; living wages and benefits for care workers, including immigrants, a reality; and maternal and reproductive health care safe and accessible. Moms are taking the future into our own hands this year, demanding leaders address our priorities.”

MomsRising Together is endorsing 172 candidates this year, more than in any previous year.

Its 2026 Moms’ Seal of Approval on Child Care program announced 162 federal, state and local candidates in 24 states who earned the mom-made, mom-approved Seal. The program identifies candidates committed to making child care affordable, accessible, and high-quality for every family. MomsRising Together has amplified these candidates through targeted voter mobilization including text, phone, digital ads, and direct mobilization of its millions of members across the country.

The organization is also using grassroots mobilization and digital ads featuring local moms, who testing showed prospective mom voters what to hear from, to support the following 30 congressional candidates. The candidate cohort includes seven U.S. Senate candidates: Chris Coons (DE), Angie Nixon (FL), Jon Ossoff (GA), Abdul El-Sayed (MI), Roy Cooper (NC), Ben Ray Luján (NM), and Sherrod Brown (OH).

MomsRising Together created the mom-made, mom-approved Moms’ Seal of Approval on Child Care program in 2024 to raise the profile of child care as a campaign issue, because child care costs more than public college tuition in many states and nearly half of Americans live in child care deserts, and to challenge candidates to commit to child care solutions that meet the needs and standards of America’s moms. It was developed with parent leaders to tell candidates what a gold-star child care plan looks like. All candidates are eligible to receive the Seal if they commit to being a child care champion as laid out in the Moms’ Seal of Approval on Child Care commitment guidelines. Candidates interested in being considered filled out the Seal questionnaire.
