With Abortion Access, Child Care, Paid Leave, Health Care, and Democracy at Stake, Nation’s Leading Moms Group Endorses 10 U.S. Senate and 28 U.S. House Candidates, In Addition to Its Previously Announced Endorsement of Harris/Walz
MomsRising Together, the nation’s largest and most powerful moms’ advocacy group, today announced the candidates it has endorsed this year. The organization’s independent expenditures on behalf of these candidates total more than $1.1 million. The online and on-the-ground organization, with 1,044,000 members and their families, has been running a massive drive to turn out the mom vote this year.
MomsRising Together’s outreach is supporting 10 U.S. Senate candidates: Ruben Gallego (AZ), Debbie Mucarsel Powell (FL), Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Elissa Slotkin (MI), Jon Tester (MT), Jacky Rosen (NV), Sherrod Brown (OH), Bob Casey (PA), Colin Allred (TX), and Tammy Baldwin (WI).
The U.S. House candidates it is supporting include 18 incumbents: Mary Peltola (AK-AL), Yadira Caraveo (CO-08), Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Nikema Williams (GA-05), Lucy McBath (GA-07), Sharice Davids (KS-03), Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Angie Craig (MN-02), Dina Titus (NV-01), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Gabe Vasquez (NM-02), Alma Adams (NC-12), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Susan Wild (PA-07), Matt Cartwright (PA-08), Summer Lee (PA-12), Kim Schrier (WA-08), and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03).
MomsRising Together is also supporting five candidates running for open House seats: Shomari Figures (AL-02), Dave Min (CA-47), Kristen Rivet (MI-08), Maggie Goodlander (NH-02), and Frank Pierce (NC-13); and five challengers for House seats: Amish Shah (AZ-01), Rudy Salas (CA-22), Derek Tran (CA-45), Whitney Fox (FL-13), and Monica Tranel (MT-01).
“Moms want to elect candidates who are committed to making child care and home care affordable, guaranteeing all working people paid family and medical leave, preventing gun violence, and ensuring our families can access affordable health care, including birth control, abortion care, and other essential services,” said Monifa Bandele, Senior Vice President of MomsRising Together. “We support a path to citizenship for DREAMers – and we reject the racist, divisive rhetoric that too many Republicans use.”
“We have never seen anything approaching this level of activism among moms and their families,” Bandele added. “There are 94 million mom voters and we’re taking the future into our own hands this year, choosing freedom over fear and division. We’re mobilized to end the days when courts take away our rights and Congress ignores our needs.”
MomsRising Together also established the Moms’ Seal of Approval on Child Care this year, to identify candidates who will stand with families by advancing child care policy solutions that address affordability, accessibility, and quality. More than 110 candidates in 24 states have earned the Seal so far.
